Magical Symbols:
Magical Characters (also called glyphs) were invented by the Elves and later passed down to Humans. Every spell is composed of multiple characters written in sequence to form a single formula, which is then activated by infusing Mana.
The writing does not necessarily have to be linear; in fact, expert mages can develop more complex schemes, such as circular patterns or structures with multiple branches to optimize the flow.
Glyphs are subdivided into five main categories:
- Elemental Glyphs: Represent the five constituent elements of the world (Fire, Air, Earth, Water, and Charge).
- Power Glyphs: Represent the four “fundamental interactions” of the universe (Movement, Energy, Mutation, and Creation).
- Descriptive Glyphs: Allow the modification or specification of the spell’s effect.
- Temporal Glyphs: Used to establish the duration, delay, or timing of the spell.
- Logical Glyphs: Used to make the spell reactive and conditional based on the external environment.
Depending on which characters are used as a starting point for spells, there are two main Magical Styles.
