“Magic is the ability to channel mana to bend the world to one’s will.”
Marthin Arcanthor, Introduction to Magic, Vol I

History of Magic:

Since ancient times, magic has always permeated the world; all living beings can, occasionally and involuntarily, make use of it.

The first people to find a way to harness magical energy at will were the Elves, who discovered how to control Mana to direct it toward a goal. It is to them that we owe the invention of the Magical Symbols.

More recently, Marthin Arcanthor, the mage who brought an end to the Middle Age, succeeded in systematizing the use and teaching of magic by founding the renowned Academy of Magic.

How Magic Works:

Magic relies on the control of Mana and develops in two phases: the activation of the energy flow and its manipulation through the formula of Magical Symbols. Mages draw from a trainable secondary reserve, but if this is depleted, they are forced to consume their own vital energy, risking physical collapse and death. The efficiency of a spell depends on the mage’s skill, which reduces waste and optimizes the formula to consume as little energy as possible.
